It's been a long day, and a HOT day in sunny San Diego. So, as the temperature cools down I figured I'd rip one of my favorite Jazz Funk albums to listen to in traffic tomorrow. What we have here is an album by a Japanese group called "Zerosen". The album is called Sunrise. Super tough to find, and through my research it has never been repressed nor is it available on a blog anywhere. With that said, this record is REALLY good. The pressing is on Victor, and has extremely deep grooves. Very loud pressing. I kept having to re-record the tracks because they were redlining so much. Sunrise was made in 1977, although it has a much earlier feel to the recording. As usual, I like to let the sound clip/record speak for itself. Enjoy the rest of your week, and stay cool out there everyone.

Ok here it is! The long lost Jason Black "American Bus" recording. Jason Black is just a pseudonym for the one and only Arawak aka Luciano Simoncini. Luciano was the man behind the Accadde A Library LP that is very known among many of you. While anything he does is hard to put your hands on, this one is damn near impossible. Pressed on the small Italian label "Wild Cat", American Bus is somewhat in the same vein as Accadde A. To be honest, I like this better than Accadde A. Very smooth album with heavy fender rhodes all the way through. Like all of my updates, I only post albums that have not been re-issued or posted on any other blog. To me, that's the point of blogging. Not re-posting something that's been on multiple blogs. With that said, I hope you enjoy this rare and amazing library record. Just check out the sample below!
Here ya go!

Ok here we go! Back at it with another exclusive gem, you'll only find here at the Crate Favorites. To be honest, I have no idea who this record is by other than it being titled "Con The Music Makers". It comes from Mexico, but I doubt the musicians are. That's just my guess though. It's un-googlable as far as my research, and I don't imagine their are too many floating around out there. It's basically covers of Barry White songs. My favorite is of course the classic "I'm gonna love you just a little bit more" (Voy A Quererte Por Un Rato Mas). The version on this LP is absolutely stunning. Bajo La Influencia Del Amor is really nice too. The album has a few other ringers on it. All of it has that real grimy private press recording quality we all love so much! If anyone has anymore information about this record, I'd really like to know. Until then, enjoy this gem. Peace!

As usual, it's been a while since my last update! So to make up for the time gap, I've ripped you quite a gem in the Italian Soundtrack field. What we have here is a VERY rare movie soundtrack called "Un Uomo Dalla Pelle Dura (Tough Guy)". Absolute stunning record, by the man who puts the "C" in I Marc 4, Carlo Pes. This record is pressed on the infamous and highly sought after label "Pegaso" out of Italy. What you can expect are 3 different themes of the title (Tough Guy) that involve tape echos, perfectly compressed percussion, and explosive horns. There's also drama sequences and cues, as well as a few lounge compositions. I don't imagine were many of these pressed, or many floating around for that matter. Reasons like this are why I take the time to shed some light, and give you the opportunity to judge for yourself. With that said, be expecting a few more updates! Enjoy.
